Dark Shadows
I was one of those kids in the late 1960's who "ran home from school" to watch the Gothic Romance soap opera Dark Shadows.  The series made an indelible impression on my young mind and some of the themes of the eternal human quest for love and acknowledging the haunting melancholy of loss and longing in a setting of Gothic romance have their thematic origins here. Some of the characters portrayed in this gallery exemplify those qualities.
